Lukou International Airport serves as the gateway to Nanjing, accommodating flights from both domestic and international destinations. For those arriving from abroad, landing in Shanghai and subsequently transferring to high-speed trains bound for Nanjing is an alternative route, often accompanied by a broader array of international flight choices and potentially more economical fares.

Option 2: Rideshare
Rideshares like Meituan and DiDi are also available.Travel time is similar, around 45–60 minutes, with fares generally in the range of CNY 150–200.
Option 3: Metro
Two transfers needed (take Metro line S1 first, then transfer to line 3 at Nanjing South Railway Station, then transfer to line 2 at Daxinggong Station, get off at Nanjing University Xianlin Campus Station). The total journey takes about 2 hours and costs approximately CNY 10. Please download Alipay in advance or purchase a single-journey ticket at the metro station by selecting your destination.

Nanjing Railway Station and Nanjing South Railway Station are the two largest railway hubs in Nanjing city. The latter is one of the 5 hub stations on Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, distinguished as the largest railway station in Asia and the second globally in terms of Gross Floor Area (GFA).

Option 1: Taxi
Available at the railway station taxi stand.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, costing between CNY 60-80.
Option 2: Rideshare
Rideshares like DiDi, Amap and Meituan are also available.
Travel time is similar, around 30–40 minutes, with fares generally in the range of CNY 50–70.
Option 3: Metro
Take metro line 1 (toward China Pharmaceutical University) to Xinjiekou Station, then transfer to metro line 2 (toward Jingtian Street) inside the station. Get off at Nanjing University Xianlin Campus Station and take exit 1. The journey takes about 75 minutes and costs CNY 6. Then take a 10-minute walk to NUICC.

Option 1: Taxi

The journey takes approximately 40 minutes, costing between CNY 80-100.
Option 2: Rideshare
Rideshares like DiDi, Amap and Meituan are also available.
Travel time is similar, around 40–50 minutes, with fares generally in the range of CNY 70–90.
Option 3: Metro
Take metro line 1 (toward Maigao Qiao) to Xinjiekou Station, then transfer to metro line 2 (toward Jingtian Street) inside the station. Get off at Nanjing University Xianlin Campus Station and take exit 1. The journey takes about 80 minutes and costs CNY 7. Then take a 10-minute walk to NUICC.

(Sequential steps: First from Pudong Airport to Hongqiao Railway Station, then by train to Nanjing)
Step 1 – Shanghai Pudong International Airport → Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station (about 50 km)
By Metro Line 2 (Approximately 2 hrs, CNY 8):After exiting customs at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, follow the signs to Pudong International Airport Metro Station (about a 10-minute walk). Purchase a ticket from the automated ticket machines for Line 2 heading towards "Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station".By Suburban Railway (Airport Link Line) (Approximately 40 mins, CNY 26):After exiting customs, follow the signs to the Suburban Railway station (Pudong Airport Station). Buy a ticket from the self-service machines and take the train directly to Hongqiao Railway Station.

Step 2 – Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station → Nanjing / Nanjing South Railway Station
By train (1–2 hrs, CNY 115–165): Pass through the manned ticket gates with your passport and purchase a train ticket to "Nanjing Railway Station" or "Nanjing South Railway Station" at the manned ticket counters (trains depart approximately every 15 minutes). Then follow the instructions under "Get to Nanjing by Train" above to reach NUICC.
