“Advancing Weather Science for Resilient Societies”


In conjunction with the WWRP Conference on: Advancing Weather Science for Resilient Societies, we are pleased to announce a Special Issue in Journal of Meteorological Research dedicated to recent advances in observations of physical and societal systems, weather prediction and predictability, societal preparedness, including impact-based warnings.

Journal of Meteorological Research publishes research that advances observation, modeling, and forecasting/prediction of weather and climate, as well as related topics in earth system sciences. 

  • Covers both basic and applied dynamics, physics, and chemistry of the atmosphere and its interfaces
  • A Springer co-sponsored journal focused on speed of submission and review, service, and integrity
  • Official journal of the Chinese Meteorological Society

Journal of Meteorological Research has kindly agreed to waive the page charges for papers accepted to this Special Issue.

  • Manuscript submission deadline: 28 February 2028 
  • Anticipated Publication: Rolling publication upon acceptance

Early submission is encouraged. Papers will undergo the standard peer-review process of Journal of Meteorological Research.

Authors should submit manuscripts through the Journal of Meteorological Research online submission system and select:

  • “Special Issue: Advancing Weather Science for Resilient Societies”

All submissions must follow the journal’s author guidelines available on the Journal of Meteorological Research website.
